Medix EMS has a strong focus on the knowledge required to maintain safety in the workplace.

Medix EMS provides high quality safety-related services to its clients. A pillar of our service is safety training and promoting a culture of Workplace Safety. Our instructors are practicing medical professionals with a wide range of experience and skills. They are certified Red Cross and Lifesaving Society of BC instructors with a minimum of 5 years of teaching and practice. Our classroom is located in Beautiful Duncan BC, in a clean modern space, set up to promote the best learning atmosphere. First Aid - Book Now!

First Aid - Occupational First Aid Level 1 / Emergency First Aid + CPR-A (8hr)

A basic first aid course but one that will teach you and give you the opportunity to practice your life saving skills. The course is a one day/7-hour WorkSafe BC course covering the essential ABC’s – airway, breathing and circulation. Including how to deal with obstructed airways, breathing distress and control of bleeding including tourniquet use. One person CPR (Adult) with AED use, minor wound care and records / reports are also part of the course.

First Aid - Full day and Recert CPR Courses

CPR C with AED (6hr)

This course on cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) provide the skills needed to recognize and respond to cardiovascular emergencies and choking for adults, children, and infants. Courses meet legislation requirements for many settings and industries in BC including daycare centers, primary schools and include the latest CPR guidelines and training in the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED).

CPR C Recertification (4hr)

Courses on cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) provide the skills needed to recognize and respond to cardiovascular emergencies and choking for adults, children, and babies depending on the level of CPR chosen. Courses meet legislation requirements for provincial/territorial worker safety and insurance boards, and include the latest CPR guidelines and training in the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED).

First Aid - Standard First Aid + CPR-C (16hr)

Comprehensive two-day course offering first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills for those who need more training due to work or licensing requirements or for those who simply want more knowledge to respond to emergencies at home or in public. Often required for those who work in child care or early childhood education workplaces, nursing or dental offices.

First Aid - Marine Basic First Aid (16hr)

Comprehensive two-day course designed to meet the needs of those expected to provide first aid in a marine environment. The course uses a combination of lecture, discussion, and scenarios taken from the marine/fishing industry to teach the required knowledge and skills. Course meets the requirements of Transport Canada outlined in Transport Publication (TP) 13008 E.

First Aid - Marine Advanced First Aid (40hr)

This extensive (40-hour) course is designed to provide participants with the skills and knowledge required to apply immediate first aid in the event of accident or illness on board a vessel. Participants will gain knowledge of marine first aid equipment, and the transferring of patients from a ship. All aspects of course are focused in a marine setting. Course meets the requirements of Transport Canada outlined in Transport Publication (TP) 13008E.
