Emergencies such as earthquakes, floods, tornadoes, wild fires and other hazards can strike at any moment leaving us without life sustaining essentials such as drinking water, food, light, heat, and shelter. It's critically important to be prepared before such events occur. The Canadian government recommends having an emergency kit on hand with enough supplies to last at least 72 hours.

We designed our 72 hour emergency kits to meet Canadian government recommendations for emergency preparedness. In the event of an emergency you can grab it and go, knowing you have the necessary supplies to survive until help arrives. The bag is built to meet military standards of durability and weather resistance while still maintaining ergonomic function and comfort for its 40 Lt capacity. It is waterproof and molle attachment capable. The front 3 pockets are packed with everything you will need to survive for 72 hours. The rear pocket is left empty for additional supplies such as:

• Special items such as prescription medications, infant formula and equipment for people with disabilities
• Extra keys for your car and house
• Some cash in smaller bills, such as $10 bills (travellers cheques are also useful) and change for pay phones
• A copy of your emergency plan including contact information
• Change of clothing and footwear for each household member
• Sleeping bag or warm blanket for each household member
• A whistle in case you need to attract attention
• Basic tools like a hammer, pliers, wrench, screwdrivers, fasteners, work gloves
• Small fuel-driven stove and fuel
• Two additional litres of water per person per day for cooking and cleaning
• Copies of personal documents such as passport and birth certificate
• Candles and matches or lighter
• Dry pet food and water for seven days along with any special medication.
